FotyMody: Tell about relationships on the shooting area.Valeriya Khvedynych: A work between photographer, model and client begins at the photoshooting. Each of them wants something own. The model is not even asked, both photographer and client persist in their opinions. When these opinions are at the same point – it is an ideal. An ideal work appears, the shooting runs a surplus. When these opinions differ, they don’t gain understanding, each person starts to pull a rope into his side and everybody has difficulties. A client wants something own. A photographer wants something own. A model wants something own too because she understands that she can do and tell something. As a rule, a photographer yields in such situation, because a client pays him money but not vice versa. Each photographer is with his approach, style as there are no similar painters – each of them paints in his way, expresses his theme and style. And a client can`t reduce all to the same level. An optimal variant is when photographer works with a model, it turns out qualitative because photographer feels model and knows what she can and what she can’t do. In the same way model can understand easier, she can express any emotions if they were told by one person but not by several persons at the same time.FotyMody: You can`t predict or think over all the things in fashion photography…Valeriya Khvedynych: It is not a problem to make a make-up and a hairdo, dress up a model. But she expresses something – and it is a human factor, her emotions, interior mood. The further shooting depends on her mood. Yes, a professional model can play any emotion easily, but when a photographer sees an entire picture he starts to rethink something. When you see an image as “bare” one, you can imagine anything but when you start to embody something – it turns in other way. I have communicated with many designers and they said that your clothes are changed to out of all recognition from the first sketch to model`s presentation on the runway. The same happens with an image on the photosession. You plan one thing but get another. Nobody says that it is better of worse, it is just another one.FotyMody: Than how can a client protect himself?Valeriya Khvedynych: That`s why a client tells about his “own” attitude to the photoshoot all the time. He wants certain poses, certain emotions “under his view”. And he is the person who keeps both a model and a photographer in limits.FotyMody: An ideal model. What is important in her?Valeriya Khvedynych: Ouch. There is no such thing. Each model is suitable for her market. For one it is a runway, for another – lookbooks, for third – magazines. Absolutely, there are some standards about girl`s beauty and correct face features.FotyMody: And is there any standard of top models?Valeriya Khvedynych: Top models are like nothing on earth, they are unique. The thing which I see in top models – they differ from other people. They have some unique features: nose, eyes, cheekbones, mouth. Whatever you like. Top models have different type. And top models are not fool, they have an interest in their eyes ant it is important. When a smart person lets something through himself – it is another thing!FotyMody: And an ideal client?Valeriya Khvedynych: Perhaps, there is no ideal client. FotyMody: An ideal client is the one who gives more money and doesn’t poke his nose into process. Valeriya Khvedynych: There are no such ones! =) Yes, they are ideal, but there are no such ones! All of them poke their noses, because they are clients, they choose, they are chiefs, they are main.FotyMody: Ok. And what about an ideal photographer?Valeriya Khvedynych: An ideal photographer is a person who feels a model from the first sight when sees her. A person who shot several shots and understood what he should expect from her and what he could not obtain ever. There are models who can make some standard things but they want to do something more interesting – you can see it in their eyes and movements but they can`t do it because of their inexperience. In such cases photographer`s ability and psychology to reach out to a person, gives him understanding how to do it. It is very subtly – you need a skill which is built on human relationships.FotyMody: And where do tendencies of models` types go?Valeriya Khvedynych: It is an absolute democracy. It is a matter of luck.FotyMody: Who is a hidden fashion character for you?Valeriya Khvedynych: A casting agent. As a rule, one good casting agent has several companies. If a casting agent doesn`t like a girl she won`t ever get these brands – until a casting agent changes or something happens. But when casting agent is interested in model`s level of work, she will get another brands with which this agent works. Because she proved that she works well and you can rely on her.FotyMody: Are there more men or women among casting agents?Valeriya Khvedynych: There are more women, because they have a business grip. To see someone and pick up him or vice versa, to drive away… Women have more aggressive reaction; they can put somebody into his place if it is necessary.FotyMody: Does fashion world stand still or goes ahead?Valeriya Khvedynych: As everything in this world, to develop and move forward is fashion world. In any case, old models and designers go away and someone new, interesting, perspective comes; all the things regenerate and – go ahead!FotyMody: Which professions have open vacancies if a person only comes into fashion world and doesn`t know whom he would be? Everybody says that there are too many models. Everybody says that there is lack of good agents. Where can beginners put their forces?Valeriya Khvedynych: There is 21 century and there are many representatives of all professions. As models, as photographers, as designers… Fashion world wasn’t so occupied earlier and everybody could break out easier. It is difficult for all of them nowadays. It is difficult to find good agents. There are too many of them and you don`t know to whom you should turn to. And as a result – everybody tells leis about others, you can`t remove it… In any case many people want to push themselves forward and others leave back. It is a thirst of competition…FotyMody: And what should a model do with these competitions?Valeriya Khvedynych: When you`re just sitting on a couch, the doors into good bright future wouldn`t open for you ever.FotyMody: And when a model sits on a coach and sends her photos to all the agencies in different countries and keep on sitting on the coach and waiting for a start of her career…Valeriya Khvedynych: You can try – everything happens. But if you sits on a coach and don`t do anything and somebody chooses you and wants you to fly to them immediately, you won`t be prepared for it. If you are active, you won`t need to change anything in yourself.FotyMody: You know much about models and photographers. How do you think, does client know much about all the models and photographers?Valeriya Khvedynych: He knows much about those who are famous at the market.FotyMody: =) He serfs the Internet and watch ratings in his spare time… Tries to understand who is angry, who is kind, who is cold, and who is creative…Valeriya Khvedynych: Oh, no. For example, Milan. Milan is a small city. When a client is satisfied with the level of work, he tells about it his friends who are clients too. Then a call into agency comes: we were suggested with this girl, we like her and want to work with her. The world is small. Especially the fashion world. It is normal that clients share with information, tell each other, suggest. It can`t be without it. That`s why a client knows how his important photographer`s of stylist`s business goes.FotyMody: Ok. Let us suppose that an honest client knows names and surnames of professionals. And how do you think, can an average client know about models` emotions, light`s cobwebs, post-production, make-up? Those specificities, which magazine`s editors, photographers, stylists know? And does he need to know about it?Valeriya Khvedynych: He doesn`t need to. It depends on human`s desire only. If he wants – he can.FotyMody: It means, that a client is not obliged to know a light scheme…Valeriya Khvedynych: …he is not.FotyMody: …and he is not obliged to know how to shade eyes and what emotion is produced by photographer for a model. That`s why he trusts to experts` opinion.Valeriya Khvedynych: Yes. Otherwise he would do it by himself, but he doesn`t do it and he trusts to professionals. If every person would be a professional in his work, work goes with a great success. They could find an understanding, they could reach something definite, and they could build the thing which is wanted, create a full picture and enjoy it.FotyMody: And that`s why many people want to work with reliable and pleasant for them people, they appreciate not only their ability to set a light and shade an eye but also to get a predictable result and peace of mind.Valeriya Khvedynych: Yes. They take reliable people, because they know that they won`t have some problems with them.FotyMody: Thank you! =)Valeriya Khvedynych: Thank you too, FotyMody! =)Valeriya Khvedynych, model, Linea12, "33 buttons", FotyMody #5.
