How about Red?

That's So New York- Usually it's a little unusual to find a label which fits both the unique/alternative category, as well as the title of a mainstream and established designer, simply because it is not unusual for there to be a rather large amount of domino effect-type happenings when designing, meaning that a designer will create something which is in-fact originally 'unique' yet then other designers will go ahead and either replicate the same style of design, or create a piece similar yet with additional signature alterations. One label which I am a huge fan of which slips into both categories is the label of Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff; yes, I am talking about newcomer and Emerging Talent - Ready-to-Wear British Fashion Awards 2010 winners, Meadham Kirchhoff

I actually only discovered Meadham Kirchhoff around a year or so, after their Emerging Talent - Ready-to-Wear British Fashion Awards 2010 win in-fact. Firstly I simply dabbled in some of the Spring/Summer 2010 designs, followed by a small break and then another reintroduction during Spring/Summer 2011; around the same time which Meadham Kirchhoff began retailing via Topshop (it was splashed all over their newsletter; therefore it was a little hard to miss.) My interest has been grabbed by Meadham Kirchhoff's most-recent release; that being their Fall/Winter 2011 collection which dabbles in that of their signature victorian/edwardian-esque cuts, using frills and layers, followed by dabbles in a series of pattern techniques whilst throwing themselves between multiple basic palettes which include a classic Fall/Winter stereotype of black and white, followed by a selection of designs which use variations of red; lastly followed by multiple transition items which include both the black and white palettes, followed by red detailing around the collar and seam area.

I'm under the impression that the Meadham Kirchhoff Fall/Winter 2011 collection might be the first time that both Edward and Benjamin have included a selection of mens garments in their collection, which of-course I assume was initially influenced by Benjamin's background in menswear during his studies at Central Saint Martins and of-course was highly influenced by both of the boys original label, Benjamin Kirchhoff which they launched together after there graduation from Central Saint Martins (during which Edward studied womenswear and Benjamin studied menswear.) Moving on a little, firstly I wanted to introduce you to the collection with the presentation of the traditional black and white designs, as followed ...

8842948884?profile=originalSomething which I found unusual about this particular collection was the use of various knitted materials; with the Meadham Kirchhoff team begin all about 'breaking from the crowd' I would have expected something a little more 'out there' yet then again, I highly doubt anyone would have been flocking into the stores come the Fall/Winter 2011 release if the entire collection was ...
