Gosha Rubchinskiy Heats Things Up in Frozen Yekaterinburg

To celebrate his Fall 2018 collection, which conveyed a message of Russian youth banding together with the world, Gosha Rubchinskiy held an after-party in the basement venue of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center in Yekaterinburg, Russia. (Yeltsin was the first official president of Russia, after the dismantling of the U.S.S.R.) The enormous, modern venue was transformed into a cozy nook for friends and family in the designer’s circle. In fact, Yeltsin’s daughter Tatyana Yumasheva was in attendance.

Other guests included the designer Stefano Pilati, the publisher Shakri Amirkhanova, Olga Karput, and dozens of fans, some of whom had driven hours on end for a chance to meet Rubchinskiy (his following in Russia, as it is elsewhere, is seriously loyal). Drinks flowed, dancing started, and then a side room was opened for an impressive karaoke battle between editors, models, and minglers alike. It was one ideal way to keep warm from the Arctic blast outside.
