The Programme

Millions of viewers across 25 countries can watch the integration of the disciplines of hair, make-up and nails on TV. The event is hosted and judged by beauty experts, and captures the passion and artistry of the competitors both in front of and behind the camera.

Top salon teams from America & around the world confront extreme challenges and test their skills to the limit, creating stylish and powerful masterpieces, and magic with hair. These artists are perceived to be some of the most creative and talented people on the planet according to the judges. And only one team can win the coveted award!

Innovative Hairstyles

Amazing innovations make these competition hairstyles extreme. Shaved sides, blond spikes, and dark roots, or green extensions backcombed to perfection! Geisha gone wild looks are created with oversized rollers on the crown and sides, with long straight strands left out in random sections of varying thicknesses around the head. Massive beehives with messy windblown looks will certainly turn heads!

Modern hairstyles for women include pixie cuts, flapper pin-curls, and flat-ironed crops tucked behind ears. Sophisticated puffy curls or blunt cuts with edgy waves are favourites, as are corkscrew curls and layered bobs. Dip-dye highlights at the ends of strands add perfect pops of colour, and slick-backed styles create an ultimate hair and beauty chameleon. Opt for messy ringlets or all over waves for an ideal way to dress up straight edges, and asymmetrical cuts can pull off essentially anything.

Vintage hairstyles recreate the fashions of the 1920s and 1930s. These retro styles are geometric, scarf-tied up dos, and timeless finger waves - and they’re making a huge comeback! The stiff ringlets and beehives are being replaced with romantic textures and trendy bangs. You can keep it modern by adding floral, fun printed scarves after spritzing a volume booster into damp hair. Dry shampoo can be used to add volume before teasing hair with a tail comb to create lift, and then tie hair into a side ponytail behind one ear.

A geometric cut enhances the neck and cheekbones, and is perfect for medium to thick straight hair. A good cut makes the hairstyle sleek, and anti-frizz serum keeps hair looking smooth and glossy.

For a high ponytail hair should be brushed and pulled back securely with elastic – a touch of gel will give extra shine. Hot rollers and dry shampoo are the key to pumping up the hair to give voluminous waves without a sprayed look. Hairspray will provide a soft hold for big hair. Skinny headbands can be added to super short bangs to keep them modern, flattering, and chic.

And finally if you need a professional hair stylist to give you a hair makeover, just search for a reputable hair salon online. You’ll be provided with immaculate hairdressing with modern hair treatments, and all the latest trends. Get the look you desire, keep it in stylish shape, and give your appearance a new lease of life – making you feel confident enough to enter a beauty pageant of your own!
