Something like "What the hell?" I didn't sugarcoat my surprise when I saw the pieces in this show. So not what I was expecting from YSL. Heidi Slimane knocked it out of the park for Spring 13' so what happened here? I'm all about changing things up but I seriously wondered if he had overindulged in 'spirits' while designing this collection or just had Marc Jacobs circa 1992 on the brain the whole time. Although the skinny silhouettes still dominate the fashion industry, we’ve come a long way since then with the rise of curvier supermodels like Christine Brinkley, Heidi Klum, and Karolina Kurkova (who by the way, remained in high demand despite the fact the Brazilian press claimed she had “too much back fat”). Shows like <a href="http://www.cwtv.com/shows/americas-next-top-model14" target="_blank">America’s Next Top Model Plus Size reality series</a> also put the typical model standards on the forefront. But now the Aussies are raising the issue with new codes for the fashion industry<br />that may change the way we know the faces and bodies behind the glamorous runways and glossy magazines. <a href="http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/national/australia-to-ban-ultra-skinny-models/story-e6freuzr-1225884746665" target="_blank">The Australian Telegraph</a> reports Prime Minister Kate Ellis released a new plan to address the “body image” matter from all sides of the spectrum.
