Do you find that your closet is a huge, jumbled mess every time that you open the door? If so, you might be wondering if you will ever be able to get the mess under control. Luckily, following these simple steps can help you get your wardrobe organized.

Purge

One of the first steps to getting your wardrobe totally organized is to go through and take out anything that you do not regularly wear. It can be tough to find the clothes that you do wear when your closet is filled up with items that don't fit or that aren't your style.

First, go through and remove items that are worn out; then, toss them in the garbage. Then, you can look for items that are still in good shape but that you never wear for one reason or another; these items can be sold secondhand for a profit -- online, at a yard sale or at a local consignment shop -- or donated. Then, take items that are out of season and consider storing them elsewhere until you need them, such as in a storage unit.

Install a Second Rod

One really helpful tip for getting your closet organized is to install a second rod in your closet for hanging up clothes. For everything but your longest dresses and coats, you should be able to have two closet rods in your closet, with one on top of the other. This can literally double the amount of storage space that you have in your closet and can make it easier for you to keep things on display, where you can easily see them.

Invest In Storage Solutions

If you are like many people, you might find that your jewelry and accessories really take up a lot of space and can be tough to keep organized. It can be challenging to put together the perfect outfit when your jewelry is all jumbled up, and pieces can easily become tangled and unorganized if you aren't careful. The same goes for socks, underwear, shoes, and everything else that doesn’t go on a hanger. Investing in bins, drawers, or even a personalized jewelry box can work wonders on your unorganized accessories.

Have you been having trouble with getting your wardrobe organized? If you feel like your closet is a mess or like it takes forever to get dressed in the morning, you should know that getting things under control is a whole lot easier than you probably think. Follow these steps, and you can get your wardrobe nice and organized in no time.
