Finding Dries Van Noten in a thrift store is like finding a box of Godiva chocolates inside a 5 & Dime candy store…. or like winning the fashion lottery.  I LOOOVEEEEEE Dries Van Noten… He is one of my favorite Belgian fashion designers because in my opinion Belgian designers are a little ahead of the curb when it comes to thinking outside the box.  Dries Van Noten has become a designer from whom you can expect the unexpected association.  He is the master of nothing ever being quite what it seems.  In 2000 he opened a 60,000 sq. ft warehouse in Antwerp and in 2007 opened his boutique in Paris, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and all around the world and Dries Van Noten has been entirely self-finaced since the beginning of his career.    He’s brilliant so when I saw this 2 piece suit just hanging there on the rack waiting for me to come and salvage it, you know I was that kid in the candy store!  I found this vintage 80′s Pierre Cardin bring yellow belt made in Spain that adds that extra punch of color and you know I love color….  Walking out of the thrift store with the Dries Van Noten suit and the Pierre Cardin belt, I just couldn’t wipe that smile off my face and why would I?   Keep it “green” people.  Recycle, Reuse & Reduce…. I’m your luxury curator!
