Cheap Monday; 'Cheap Date' (Re-Blogged)

That's So New YorkI have Susie Bubble (Susanna Lau) of Style Bubble to thank for this post, primarily due to the fact that the majority of you may recall Susie sharing a post titled Cheap Date earlier this week; that of which presented an interview which Susie held with Cheap Monday's Creative Director, Ann Sofie-Back and Orjan Andersson, where she questioned the aesthetic behind their Spring/Summer 2012 show/collection (don't worry, I haven't completely forgotten Fall/Winter 2011; rest assured that I do have plans to scribble up a handful of posts which deal with the Fall/Winter topic). 

Both Anne Sofie-Back and Orjan Andersson assured Susie that the collection itself is ideally supposed to reference the 1960s/1970s, despite the fact that after watching the show via a Vimeo video player, in addition to first-hand, and having heard a handful of musical mixes which introduced Rebecca Black's Fridaymeets J. Lo, followed by Lady Gaga's Edge Of Glory and that rather irritating Crazy Frog. Not to worry, Both Ann and Orjan did mention that the collection and show was also supposed to refer back to a time when our parents were young and consequently turning the older generations' concepts and ideas on its head (I assume these are the times we would all look back on and scream something along the lines of "WOAH MUM & DAD, YOU WERE WILD!" right?)

If you ask me, the concept behind the collection/show is a little too complex for my liking; therefore I'm going to act dumb-struck and simply throw around a handful of images from the show ...
