Less than a week ago (yes I'm hanging on to a day), I was in Charleston, SC for some needed relaxation and culture. (Everybody needs a bit of culture in their life ;-).
Love this city! From the food (truly good food has a of sucking you in doesn't it?), of course the fashion, yes these people has style! To my favorite, visiting Boone Plantation, thank you Charleston for a great Southern welcome and time!
Amen Street and Raw Bar. Tilefish. Yum!
My morning 'spot.'
Art at the Rainbow Market
Selfie fun.
(Picked up this Tagua nut bracelet by Maggie Schwartz at Rainbow Market. She also makes these)
Being goofy at the Calhoun Mansion. the largest private residence in Charleston.....and some of the most amazing antiques you've ever seen. No interior photos allowed though.....
Perhaps because of my heritage or just because its an amazing experience regardless, my visit to Boone Hall Plantation was something I wish I'd done years ago. A history lesson no one should forgo. Should you get to visit, you'll recognize the property interior and exterior from the movies The Notebook, Queen and North and South. All shot on location at Boone Hall.
The best little street in the city!
Food & Spirits!
Bye for now my Southern gem. I'll be back soon!
