Celebrity Red Carpet Jewellery Trends

Award season brought all of our favorite celebrities and stars to the red carpet, for a show-stopping selection of glamor, style and beauty seen at the Oscars, the Grammys and more. Celebrating some of the industries most talented, we had a chance to marvel at the latest music, TV and film awards, as well as the gorgeous fashion and jewellery trends taking over the red carpet.

As usual fine Jewellery was key to each celebrity’s style, looking to classic diamonds or bold gemstones to compliment their fashion and beauty looks in a striking yet mostly subtle and timeless way. Stand out celebrity styles included girl of the moment Dakota Johnson at the Oscars, who was adorned in diamond studs, fine bracelets and a radiant cut cocktail ring, adding a glamorous touch to her classic red gown. Reported to be wearing nearly $2 million worth of jewellery, the talented actress added the perfect amount of bling to her red carpet style.

Australian beauty Margot Robbie embraced the multi-chain necklace trend, with a tassel inspired yellow gold necklace complete with breathtaking diamonds and sapphires, placed perfectly on the bust line working with her deep v-shaped Saint Lauren black dress. A contrasting red lip was combined with the statement necklace, creating the perfect balance between modern and classic styling. Other celebrities like Jessica Chastain opted for a much more subtle take on necklaces, with a classic diamond necklace perfectly accenting her black and blue Givenchy gown.

Classic jewellery was still a key red carpet trend with many stars opting for subtle jewellery additions similar to Jan Logan fine jewellery pieces that place look-at-me gowns at the center stage. Stars like Katy Perry and Katharine McPhee chose classic chandelier earrings or silver hoops, letting their outfits do all the talking. Katy Perry’s white gold chandelier earrings were a great compliment to her purple hair and embellished silver dress.

Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga embraced the emerald colour trend at the Grammys, with Beyonce rocking emerald and diamond chandelier earrings with matching rings. Taylor Swift went for opal earrings and matching rings, while Lady Gaga opted for emerald colored drop earrings and a sexy pendant necklace.

Ear cuffs were still trending, with Rita Ora and Chloe Moretz adding the perfect amount of bling with one-sided ear cuffs. Seen in striking diamonds, the ear cuff added a rock chic vibe to glamorous evening gowns, perfectly matched with rings or simple necklaces. Khloe Kardashian and Meghan Trainor were just a few of the stars who opted for a much more classic earing style, rocking the drop earrings at their best, with both stars choosing long thin tiered variations working amazing with their stunning black dresses.

Other stars like Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o went bold with their jewellery choices at the Oscars this year, with Scarlett choosing a statement bib necklace matched with an ear cuff set in pink gold. Lupita Nyong’o outdid everyone at the Oscars with her gown made from 6,000 white pearls both real and fake for a show stopping style.
