The Red Opium show by Sandra Rives featuring Peter Farmer got off to an interesting start with an Australian Aboriginal dance. It was the perfect opening to a collection that featured five original Aboriginal artworks from the Noongar tribe/mob.
The resort wear collection is called Alinga, which means Sun Goddess in the Aboriginal language. Light dresses both long and short were seen along with easy pants and sarong-style skirts. There were also spaghetti strap tops and shorts.
The prints were beautiful and along with the summer dresses, set the mood for elegant resort wear. To add to the theme and feel of the collection, there were also four Aboriginal models walking in the show.
The show which was part of the Alta Moda KL event recently, is a collaboration between Red Opium by Sandra Rives, Peter Farmer of Peter Farmer Designs and Alta Moda KL.
This is part of the Fashion Initiative, Bringing Australia to the World by Fashion Advocate Australia which aims to highlight Australian Aboriginal Culture through fashion, creativity and art.
