Are reading glasses bad for your eyes?

Not at all! Reading glasses correct near vision. People suffering from presbyopia or hypermetropia (commonly known as farsightedness) use these types of glasses. They have difficulty reading texts or seeing things closer to their eyes. To facilitate reading or doing eye-straining activities (like sewing, working on miniature art, etc.), reading glasses can give you better vision. So do reading glasses harm your eyesight? Some of the lower quality ones might! A lot of “ready readers” are prevalent in the market today. They come in preset powers and people buy them without any prescription. But this is not an ideal practice. What if the lens power does not match your prescription? Moreover, it is common that both eyes have different prescriptions. The best thing to do is to buy glasses online with a proper prescription if they cost a bit more.

If you have 20/20 vision and still want to wear glasses to look intellectual or impress someone, you can wear them without fear. You will feel a slight discomfort as if wearing magnifying lenses. If you are engaged in work that requires near vision and concentrating on small objects, you can wear them. You can buy online glasses of your choice of style or visit a store nearby and try out various ranges of style. Or better still, browse on your phone, tablet, or PC, compare prices and style, and order cheap glasses online
