Remember back in May of this year when CEO Mike Jeffries, of Abercrombie & Fitch, released an apology for making comments like, "In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends," and "A lot of people don't belong (in our clothes), and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely"?

These comments were said back in 2006, but really surfaced when a angry teenager, Benjamin O'Keefe created a petition on Change.org, holding the brand liable for Jeffries' comments. O'Keefe who is a eating disorder survivor, made his was to the A&F headquarters in Columbus, Ohio with the National Eating Disorder Association to deliver the astounding number of signatures.

He was not the only one who spoke out about the brand, Jess M. Baker of the The Militant Baker went as far as making a series of mock Abercrombie & Fitch ads, showing photos of her self in a size large Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirt. She believed that, "The only thing you've done through your comments is reinforce the unoriginal concept that fat women are social failures, valueless, and undesirable. Your apology doesn't change this." We even had the pleasure of interviewing Jes on Iconici Weekly Radio to discuss this issue!

We can not forget the genius, Greg Karber who put together a video to try to help re-adjust the Abercrombie & Fitch brand. Asking for everyone to go through their closets and give the brands clothing to the homeless.

As you can see there were many very upset and disgusted by Mr. Jeffries comments, and since sales have been at an all time low. So low in fact that now they are going to start selling plus sizes for the first time. This of course is to try to attract new customers. Ambercrombie & Fitch is expanding the women's tops collection and  is planning to launch a shoe collection. They want to offer a broader range of sizes and colors.

We have seen tons of people speak out and really no one is surprised that sales have lowered since all of this happened. We want to know what you think? Do you think this will help them or do you feel that the damage is already done? Comment and let us know!
