You wear your shoes every day. After a while, it's easy to get bored with the same old footwear. You can add some flair to your footwear collection with some easy additions and alterations.

Shoe Strings

Shoe strings may be one of the easiest things to change on your footwear. Shoe laces come in a lot of different colors and designs, and a simple switch between them can change the look of the entire shoe. You can even get strings you don't have to tie. Buy several different sets of laces, changing them out to match your clothes or mood.

Mix and Match

In the past, it was unthinkable for someone to wear shoes that didn't match. Now, manufacturers are making pairs of socks and shoes that are designed to not match. If you have two pairs of the same shoes in different colors, try mixing them up.

For example, you could wear a bright blue shoe on one foot and a neon green shoe on the other. On the blue shoe, lace it with neon green strings. On the green shoe, lace it with bright blue strings.

Lace Locks and Buttons

Lace locks attach to your shoe strings. They come in a variety of cute designs, and you can add up to four or five of them to your shoelaces. You can also buy some cute pins to attach to the sides of your footwear. Place as many or as few as you like, replacing and changing the designs as often as you want.

Fabric Markers

If you really want to add your own touch to your footwear, you can create your own style with fabric markers. Draw and color your own designs or use stencils to help you create a masterpiece.

Boots

Of course, there are times when you might want to elevate your footwear. Take a break from the typical tennis shoes or slip-on shoes, and look at adding some boots, like those from Italeau, to your collection. Leather boots are a classic wardrobe piece that will last through many different trends and styles, and you can find a pair to match all your outfits. If you want to add flair to your new boots, tie some tassels to the backs or add some ribbon around the top edge. However, it's probably not a good idea to mix and match your boots.

No matter how many pairs of shoes you have, you can add flair to your footwear with just a few easy steps. Whether you prefer fashionable Italian boots or colorful sneakers, you can make them reflect your personality and style.
