“I love putting my friends and colleagues together, for business or pleasure,” says Stacy Igel. “I’ve been building strong, honest mutually-beneficial relationships in fashion for years now,” she continues, “slowly gaining credibility and access. That’s the only way.”


Take it from Igel, she’s one who’s made these practices work to perfection. Over the last 15 years, she’s gone from student to designer, to the owner of a successful streetwear-influenced casuals line, Boy Meets Girl. But even the successful fashion professional has to have something to fall back on when the economy or business gets rocky that will still support their first love—a “plan B” that aids “plan A”. Following more than a decade in the rag trade, Igel is on a short break from her first
love, and now developing a crush on a whole new career she never could have imagined.
