A decade of Uniqlo T-shirts: One range fits all

In lesser hands, a T-shirt is just a T-shirt. However, in 2003, the folks at Uniqlo decided to take this humble garment and turn it into a personal style statement, launching the UT (Uniqlo T-shirt) line for those looking to jazz up their basics.

Over the last decade, the UT design team has collaborated with artists, cultural icons, organisations and brands worldwide, from Andy Warhol to Sanrio, creating a snazzy and diverse T-shirt line that is sure to have something for everyone.

This May, look out for new UT designs from Barbie, Corporate Collaboration and Coca Cola hitting Uniqlo stores across Singapore. The Coca Cola UT range, in particular, is worth checking out as they feature the winning T-shirt designs from the 2011 UT Grand Prix design contest.

For fashionistas out there who have been silently rocking their UTs for work or play, there is now a chance for you to show off your style cred to the world — and get a shot at winning USD$10,000 too. To celebrate 10 years of UTs, Uniqlo has kicked off the Uniqlooks UT Style Contest which aims to reward UT-loving fans worldwide.

To participate, simply upload a photo of yourself in your favourite UT get-up onto the Uniqlooks platform, Uniqlo’s Facebook-integrated fashion community.

The contest is open to anyone, regardless of age, nationality or gender, and multiple entries are permitted. The most stylish entry will win the grand prize of USD$10,000, while the first runner-up and second runner-up will bag USD$5,000 and USD$3,000 each respectively.

The Uniqlooks UT Style Contest ends on June 9, 2012 and the winning looks will be announced on the Uniqlooks contest page on June 25, 2012. Visit the Uniqlooks website at http://uniqlooks.uniqlo.com/
