Is it my imagination or is this fashion model wearing underwear on her leg??? If that is underwear, was that done on purpose? Well, I actually think it was done on purpose.

There seems to be an endless parade of willing participants and consumers in this voyeuristic and banal charade. Celebrities being completely unavoidable, this season’s collection is dedicated to Heat and O.K! Magazine and all the misbehaving lovelies they portray. As her source of inspiration, Ann-Sofie Back draws on her love / hate relationship of the celebrity issue. The image of Britney Spears out on the town without her underwear is forever etched in our memory. Her pixelated crotch as she stumbles out of the limousine was plastered over every celebrity publication. This has inspired the pixelated prints used on dresses, skirts, tops, leggings and gloves. There are also pixelated Heat and O.K! logo t-shirts. Not all will go as far as Britney. However, of late we have witnessed some generous knicker flashing. This acts as one of the main areas of inspiration from which Ann-Sofie has created floaty, delicate silk lace tops, dresses, skirts and garters with detailing drawn from g-string knickers, through to jeans with lace applications. Ann-Sofie also creates tights with a crotch worked into the knees, or the crotch as a decorative motif on sheer jersey garments. Another key focal point of the collection are piercings, seen as embellishments on knitwear, dresses and shoes. This theme mirrors Paris Hilton’s use of multiple piercings, however once again Ann-Sofie exaggerates the use. Kate Moss turned fashion disaster into fashion statement when she tore her cream satin dress and reworked it. In this vein Ann-Sofie creates garments that appear to unravel at the hem on tailored trousers and skirts, silk dresses and skirts, as well as a peacoat and an asymmetric biker jacket, all of which salute Ms Moss’ true celebrity fashion moment.
