3 Dos and Don’ts to Perfect Your Office Look

There are two types of office-going fashionistas – the ones who have the entire look for the next day sorted out a night before, and the ones who scamper to find whatever best they can twenty minutes before they’re supposed to leave home for work.

Regardless of the category you fall in, there are certain choices that can ruin the entire look. Here are three dos and don’ts to perfect your office look every single day. And if you’re planning to stock new items in your wardrobe, don’t forget to use the Hush discount code to avail limited time opportunities and save money along the way. So here we go.

To Do

  • Mix and Match Clothing Items

Your top and bottoms don’t necessarily have to be cut out of the same piece of fabric. You can mix and match items as required. In fact, it is recommended that the items be different. Although, make sure what you match compliments each other. Ideally, if you’re wearing printed bottoms, pair it with a plain solid color top to not create visual clutter.

  • Makeup

Makeup is a woman’s best accessory. With the number of cosmetics available in the market and the variety of looks you can create when using different products, it is natural for a woman to be inclined to do “just a little more”. Makeup is healthy if done in moderation. If you decide to wear a bright lip color, make sure you balance it out with a nude eye makeup. And if you’re flaunting your eye makeup skills, make sure you compliment it with a subtle lip color. Wearing too much or too bright makeup creates unnecessary distraction, which is typically frowned upon in an office environment.

  • Carry Matte Chic Bags

There’s so much a woman needs to carry. Make sure you invest in a stylish handbag that isn’t too big or too small for your needs. Neutral colors like black and white make smart investments. But if you think you can carry an unusual color, don’t hold yourself back! For the office environment, it is preferable you opt for matte colors. Anything too blingy can become an eye sore rather quickly.

To Don’t

  • Over-Accessorize

You probably love those rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets more than words can say. And you probably have a vast collection to go with every item in your wardrobe. Particularly if you’re headed to work, try not to over-accessorize. It may hurt a little but try to regulate the amount of jewelry you wear. Ideally, if you’re wearing a necklace, lose the bracelet and the earrings. Or if you like them both, lose the necklace. The idea is to look attractive in a subtle manner. Too many pieces of jewelry do the exact opposite.

  • Wear Deep Cuts

This doesn’t need a lot of elaboration. But it also depends heavily on the office environment. Wearing deep cuts are generally prohibited in workplaces for the most evident reason. Try to cover up as much of your skin as possible. But if you must absolutely wear revealing clothes, make sure you’re balancing it appropriately. For instance, if you’re opting for an off-shoulder top, make sure you pair it with a long skirt instead of a short one. In the long run, these little things can save you from major heartbreaks.

  • Sparkles

Last but not the least, lose the sparkles. Get rid of cheap glittery items or keep them exclusively for evening dates. In an office environment, even glittery eye makeup can hint at things you’re not thinking of. There’s plenty of light in the room; save the glitter for the dark nights! All the best!
