10 Fashion Brands Awarded by British Royal Warrant

8843388276?profile=originalBritish Royal Warrant has been issued to companies or tradespeople who supply goods or services to Royal Family of UK. Around 800 Royal Warrant holders are listed in The Royal Warrant Holders Association. Royal warrant is a symbol of brand’s dignity and people trust all these brands for their excellent craftsmanship or expertise. Milliners, dressmakers and perfume designer, shoe or boot manufacturer, tailors and many others awarded by this warrant but government department, media, event planners I mean refreshment and entertainment category units do not qualify.

Generally Warrants are granted to companies or people who have supplied products or services for a minimum of five consecutive years at least. After five years Royal Household Tradesmen's Warrants Committee review it and decide for renewal. Lord Chamberlain is the chairman of this committee and give advice on granting warrants as well.

I am very thankful to noted telegraph writer Stephen Doig who inspire me by his article published in Telegraph (luxury) subject to recently launched “The Royal Warrant Series” a walking tours to these historic Royal Warrants companies’ workshops by legendary Mayfair hotel The Connaught.

2: John Lobb Bootmaker

Royal warrants issued in 1956. Company is a manufacturer and retailer of shoes and boots for almost 150 years. In 1976 French luxury brand Hermes took over the John Lobb. Today John Lobb shoes are available in both ready-to-wear and customized as well. According to Wikipedia two warrants issued by HRH the Prince of Wales and HRH the duke of Edinburgh.

Today DAKS has 2000+ shops in over 30 countries. Brand have 3 royal warrants of appointment by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, HM The Queen and HRH the Prince of Wales and in 1956, 1962 and 1982 respectively.

Ede& Ravenscroft holds warrants as robemakers of British Royal family. Today company have 3 royal warrants appointment by HM the queen, HRH the duke of Edinburgh and HRH the Prince of Wales. 7: Firmin & Sons Ltd.
