I hear what your saying about being Niche, but trust me, Niche don't pay the bills! Niche means little orders, little production, high production prices, high fabrication prices, small income! Trust me, seen it, done it and sure its nice to be exclusive but it's not sustainable unless your Niche in multiple countries, now you have volume orders to make it a worthwhile business.
Have a look at ASOS.com, approach them ( the buyer contact details are in my book or i'll just give them to you) Thing is, you need orders one way or another or you'll either end up selling your samples to recoup costs or even worse, just wearing them yourself!
Trust me, in order to attract buyers to your product you have to entice them. We do this with hype be it celeb endorsement, product placement in mags, name dropping other stores we supply etc etc. Forget the exclusivity tip, ultimately you wont be able to sustain it from a production point of view. Your cost basis will be too high.
Have a look at your pricepoints, i think this is why buyers are hesitant. I understand the pieces are hand embroidered with a little beading work but this is readily available on the high street for a lot cheaper. The only way you can command these pricepoints is after the brand is established. Buyers will be afraid to take a risk with you at these pricepoints because your brand is not established. We live in a celebrity culture, if you had a " name" wearing one of your designs, whole different ballgame! Hype creates sales!
I think if i were you i would be looking at my margins to see if i could lower the rrp's to make the styles more attractive to buyers at wholesale.

Its not impossible but will take a focused effort on your part. Dont fool yourself into thinking that because family and friends love what your doing, buyers will do also. In the real world of fashion its highly competitive and you have to follow tried and tested methods to make your brand,your label stand out. Remember, buyers want items that they are confident will sell through for them, they do buy into items they fall in love with but visibility is everything. Dont expect them to come visit your website, it wont happen, they are too busy.
