Graffiti is an often misunderstood art form in the realm of the high art world. For the most part, it is often seen as destructive and rebellious in some circles; however, graffiti is one of our first forms of communication ( Graffiti is one of the highest forms of self-expression and when done with respect for the environment, graffiti can be a very clever and useful way to renew the environment to make it new and uplifting.

L’ALLÉE DES GRAFFITIS is a not only an innovative way to show the world that when we make use of our often wasted and unattended space to create a message of beauty...creativity and unity, graffiti truly has a place in our communities. Through fashion and a full on campaign to open the public's eyes to show just how very powerful this art form is. Art from all genres has the power to heal, inspire, uplift, and unite. During these times of separation in our world, it is important for us all to have a voice because it is important to reach those who come after us, which is essential in our growth as a human race. As a young artist, I experienced sexual molestation starting at age four and it continued until I was age 21. If I had not had art and my creativity, there is no telling where I would have ended up. Being accepted into the Baltimore School for the Arts at age 14, I found not only an outlet but a way to cope. I was the very first student to graduate with a discipline in fashion. There was a great deal to prove and I did it successfully by not only conforming to the classical structure that the school originally set forth. I was rewarded by then art department head Carole Byard and Dean David Simon by being given free rein to do fashion for my senior year. It was the first time in my life that I felt that I had accomplished something amazing and had I not spent long hours at school, my fate definitely would not have turned out as well. I was constantly being raped by a neighbor during my junior and senior years, but art kept me sane and kept me moving forward. I shared this deep part of my story because there is some young artist that feels that there is no hope tomorrow. I am here to say "THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!" I hope that my work and the work of other artists touches the life of someone.

In September 2020, Carlous Palmer will take graffiti and mesh its bold colors, powerful message, and universal appeal to create a collection that will be shown through Fashion Week Studio, a production company which serves Paris, Milan, London, and New York City. This micro collection will be presented to New York's elite along with magazines including Vogue, Elle, and Harper's BAZAAR along with retailers like Macy’s, Bloomingdale's, and Nordstrom, one of the very first department stores to carry clothing that I designed. The show will also host many European retailers. This platform will be used to educate some of the up and coming artists who work with me. I hope that working with other artists will allow them to see an opportunity to connect with industry professionals that will further their careers as artists. Promotion efforts have begun and will continue until show time in September (

In 2019, I was able to work with a few young people in order to show my Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Paris, France at the InterContinental Hotel. The effects on those who went was truly inspiring and prompted this most recent effort. The goal of this collection is:

• To show fashion as art
• To educate youth about fashion and art
• Continue educating the public on the use
