  Melissa - Great to meet you. In response to your question on body image, I think it plays a HUGE part in self esteem. Though we often hear the phrase, "It's on the inside that matter." The truth is that it is the "outside" that forms the first impression on others. And of course, we get our own self image from comparing our selves to others and their comments. "You should work out," easily gets translated to "I'm fat." It takes a lot NOT to focus on your body image. Good luck with your thesis.
