Hi Leah,
I saw your post on the bloggers forum about using images on your blog that you see on the internet. I work for a Stock Photography company so I have some background regarding licensing images for various usages (including blogging). My advice is not to take images that you see others using on the net. They may have purchased the license to use the images that you see. Therefore, if you grab it from their site, you may be infringing on copyright laws.
I have heard about people that were asked to remove and/or were even sued for using an image illegally.
If you see an image that someone has posted on the net and you know that they have taken the photo themself, then you can ask if you can use their image and ensure that you credit them and even post a link back to their site.
I used to use a site called picapp.com
You can get fashion images or images of celebrities for free. The only catch is, that there will be a bar across the bottom of the image that advertises the picapp site. I didn't quite like that, so I stopped using the site.
If you have any further questions, feel free to shoot me an email.
Hi Leah,
Thanks for your comments. I too am new in this business. 3 years so I do not have too much to offer except just keep trying. These are very hard times & it is really difficult to get placed in quality stores. There are so many talented people making jewelry out there right now.
Your work is beautiful don't lose faith. Hopefully things will get better. We are all experiencing the same thing.
Warm regards,
Erica
