  • Wow! Your work looks good..! It's good that you got an internship though, especially without a university degree. Over here, college doesn't mean that much. You only really go to college if you're going to uni. We just have alot of essays here. For example, one of our assignments is to pick a country from the list, (I picked India because there is a strong Indian community at my university), and looks at designers who have influenced a sub-culture of that country. Uber boring! Another assignment, is we have to design a perfume package, (you wouldn't think we're fashion students). The package has to represent an artist in their certain art movement, in collaboration with a celebrity. We have to research the art movement, find an artist and do research on them, pick a celebrity who would endorse this artist, and then make the packaging. I understand that we have to look at art movements, as that is relevant. But seriously, celebrities?! Urgh! When I graduate I want to work in marketing at the Head Office of a high street store, such as Topshop. That would be brilliant :) So I take it that you want to write when you graduate? There seems to be a downfall of journalism jobs over here. Circulation on publications is slowly falling, mainly because of the internet. Whatever you do, never move over here! Haha!
I have myyear placement next year, where I have to go to a company and get 42 weeks of either paid or unpaid work experience. That is going to be difficult. I wanted to go to Toronto seen as that is where I come from, but finding a place to live is very expensive, especially if it's unpaid. Sorry it's such a long message :) x
  • It's ok... I thought it would be good to try and network, even though I'm in England and you're in Florida! What kind of things do you do in the industry? I'm a student at the moment, just started my second year. It's soo difficult! I do Fashion, Media and Promotion at the University of Huddersfield. So my modules include Fashion, Global Consumer Issues, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, and I did Print Media last year. What is university like over there? x
  • The 90s is the era that I hate the most. And I just happened to be born in the 90s. Thanks a lot, mom. Lol. Anyway, I gotta go. Talk later. =) (btw I loved your blog post about racism)
  • OMG, tell me about it. I refuse to wear plaid. It's so Irish. And I'm Italian, French, and Spanish. Plaid's not my thing. BTW, thankx for commenting on my blog. =)
  • hey ariel - glad you like my blog! im trying come up with the next topic for a post - with so many things happening it's hard to pick one! :P where are you based? do you work in fashion?
  • hello & welcome to my page
  • I'm thinking of using th idea of the second half of the boot article in a what's hot what's not form.
  • Very good, we would just make it look a bit better, maybe it could be a bit longer with a few more images...maybe you can do another article on the McQueen heels. Email at : stevn@sanjosefashionweek.com
  • I would love to see your work, we are looking for fashion writers for our online magazine and our published magazine.
