What materials can you custom sew patches onto?

Custom Sew on Patches are designs sewn onto clothing and fabrics. Materials needed: Top fabric: twill, sailcloth, or another appropriate fabric, usually cotton, polyester, or a blend. As a backing material, use (crinoline and/or tear away). Use a heat gun to seal the edges.

Not a common thing, but you can do this with leather fabric. It will turn unique as well as something attractive to see.
