In clothing, sublimation refers to a printing process where dye is transferred onto fabric using heat and pressure. This results in vibrant, full-color designs that are permanent and won't fade or crack over time. Sublimation printing is commonly used for custom sportswear, activewear, and other apparel that requires a high level of color accuracy and durability. The process involves printing the design onto transfer paper and then using a heat press to transfer the ink from the paper onto the fabric. Sublimation works best on polyester or polyester blend fabrics, as the dye molecules are able to bond with the fibers at a molecular level.
