Hi Everyone!

I am about to import winter clothes from international seller at wholesale price and he would cargo them next week. However, we are not able to make a consensus on the bill of lading. Actually, I have a terrible experience with the original bill of lading. For a few of my first international shipments, I didn't receive the original bill of lading courier at the time, and many of them were also non-delivered. Yes, I am willing to proceed with a surrendered bill of lading like this because it wouldn't only simplify the shipment process but also a speedy way to get my consignment.

Withal, my exporter is hesitating to go with the surrendered bill of lading because according to him, he would lose the power over the items after sending me this bill. Actually, we have to deal the first time, and for sure, we are having some trust issues. I would like to know your views about the right bill of lading the first-time traders should use. Do you think original BOL is the right way to proceed or we can try surrendered billing option?

You can also share your experiences about these bills and how U.S. Customs and Border Protection reacts to these bills. Waiting for your suggestions.
