I am thinking of doing a trade show as my first step to showcasing my designs and I would really appreciate some advice on any major 'do's and dont's' for doing shows. I am wondering if there are common mistakes and pitfalls that newbies often make. One thing Im worried about is taking very small orders (Im a niche brand) from buyers who may simply just want to get the garment made themselves and just use my item as a sample for the factory. Does this sort of thing happen?
How are the payments for orders taken? Are they paid for on arrival of the goods or is it acceptable to ask for a deposit? How do the funds actually get exchanged? Is it normally from one business bank account to another?
