African Prestige presents… Proudly African 2009: Fashion Show/Magazine Launch Extravaganza An event to benefit the ‘Keep A Child Alive’ Foundation African Prestige magazine is a lifestyle magazine that celebrates the culture of Africans through entertainment, fashion, news, as well as in-depth profiles of African personalities. We are excited to announce the launch of our first issue this December! In celebration of this launch, we will be hosting a gala featuring an exciting array of fashion, music, and entertainment. We anticipate up to 300 guests will be in attendance, and the event will gain exposure to thousands of our magazine readers and online viewers. In addition, monetary donations will go towards ‘Keep A Child Alive’, a charity dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care and support services to children and families whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. Since many of our subscribers are very fashion-conscious, the gala will feature an African-inspired runway show. We hope to showcase up-and-coming designers, preferably local to North Carolina, in this fashion show lasting approx. 1 to 1 1/2 hours. We are in urgent need of fashion designers with African-inspired pieces. Please note, this is a fundraising event and therefore unpaid, however all participants will receive free publicity in our next issue, which will include several glossy pages showcasing your work in print as well as online. The event will also provide valuable sales and networking opportunities. If you are a designer with an African-inspired clothing line you would like to showcase, we would be very interested in working with you. Fashion design students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The launch will take place this December in Raleigh, North Carolina. For more information, please send an e-mail to editor@african-prestige.com. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you! Editor-in-Chief African Prestige Magazine, Inc.
