Since graduating from the London College of Fashion with 1st Class honours, Robert (Bert) Elford has enjoyed a great deal of success as a commercial fashion designer. He has created garments for Ted Baker, Penguin, Joystick junkies and designed key pieces that were shown in London based designer Nico-D's London Fashion week show. With 2010 fast approaching, Bert's attention has now turned to creating his own namesake company . His nihilistic digital graphics work playfully with simple oversized silhouettes, to create discordant aesthetic for a brand new decade. Bert's work has a heavy political subtext, influenced by post modern humanism and counter cultural thinking. Which in it self is a nod to his greatest design influence and life long hero Vivienne Westwood. Other key influences include the film director David Lynch and the nightmarish paintings of Sir Francis Bacon. See his new collection at: http://www.bertelford.com
