Approaching companies?

Hello, Im not sure if this is the right place to ask but Ill take a chance. I have an idea for a clothing design that Ive never seen out there.. What my goal is to find a company that would buy the rights to my idea and pay me royalties. I cant seem to find who or what department handles that in a company.. Can anyone suggest ways I can effectively approach a company and present my idea to someone who is going to be able to say Yay or Nay? Thanks for reading.
