About Me ...: I am a student finishing up my Fashion Merchandising Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. I currently intern in the buying office of S & K menswear.

I like to have fun, but I also work hard. I'm a very creative person and in my free time I enjoy crocheting and scrapbooking.

Fashion Industry Experience: Express-- 3 years. 1.5 of those as a keyholder.

S & K Famous Brands- interning in the buying dept since November 06.

Interview!!

You probably haven't seen me much on here the past few days, I've been super busy with midterms. Also as some of you know, it is my senior year so I have begun the job hunt (even though graduation isn't until May a lot of companies are already recruiting!)

Today was the career fair on campus and there was only one company I was interested in--Macy's South. I went and met with the recruiters.

Networking, Researching, Revising

The past few weeks have been super busy with school plus work. I got my resume almost finalized, I'm in the last revision stages. I also have mocked up some business cards and I am getting ready for the Career Fair next month!

Resume

So last night I worked on sprucing up my resume (due for class today) and boy oh boy....I hadn't updated it since before I started working at S & K, and I did not realize how many additional skills I had acquired! I had trouble keeping it to just one page since I have a lot of experience (for someone my age, at least). Just got to see what the career counciler thinks of it now!

8 months and counting...

Only 8 months until I graduate!! This has been a long time coming, and I want to be sure I have a totally kick ass job lined up.

I'm going to use this blog to track my progress on my job hunt....any hints, feedback, or contacts anyone would like to add would be greatly appreciated!
