About Me ...: Hi, I am from South Africa. I am a researcher & development specialist in the fashion/apparel sector. I also lecture to fashion design students and to business students on the global apparel industry.

At the moment I am undertaking two studies:
1. The role of fashion weeks - do they contribute to the development of the fashion sector or are they just great show events. I would welcome comments, suggestions about fashion weeks. Would love to make contact with designers who have taken part in these events ... do they help your businesses. The reason I am doing this study is because in South Africa they (fashion weeks) are still show events and there is very little focus on the business side.

The other study I am doing is around sponsorship of fashion weeks. Why do componies sponsor fashion weeks and wht or who do they get market exposure for their links. Any comments, suggestions insight is most welcome.

An Evaluation of the South African 2007 Durban Fashion Week - by ReDress

An evaluation study by Renato Palmi of the research house ReDress© on the 2007 MTN Durban Fashion Week that took place over four days in June indicated that the entire fashion week was a resounding success.
