Hi Shena,
I noticed you have experience in PR/Marketing. I'm trying to make a transition from merchandising into PR....any suggestions or possibilities you might know of in Philadelphia area?
As a PR person, you are welcome to join the marketing or fashion pr groups on this site. Possibly you can meet some connections in that area. You will find a link to the groups area from the top of this page. Also, maybe you can hook up with some fashion designer to help market their brand. You can find fashion designers on Apparel Search.
After you have clients, you can send me press releases. I can possibly post for you.
If you have any questions about this fashion network, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Check out the Atlanta Apparel Mart. Believe it or not I think the best course would probably be to get some great stationary and business cards and send a letter or promo package to the type of clothing companies you would like to showcase in your shows and also contact stores in the malls and and see if they would like to do a collective fashion show for a charity, you will probably see a response more immediately then trying to find a "job" think outside the box.....
Believ it or not Atlanta is a prime location if you work it right....get on any list that you can, contact all of the local magazines...I was on a train here in NY and found a great magazine called the Atlantan or something like that, it was a socialite magazine
Shena this is a good place to start...have you ever considered PR for the fashion industry. Let me give it some thought on the best way to break into this crazy industry. I think this is a good time to get in. Usually during a down economy people are willing to use soemone with less experience but you have to still be good at what you do...can you write a great press release...what are your strengths...can you come up with a marketing plan, these are things to consider.
