Maureen,
I write a lot of magazine and newspaper articles but I really enjoy business and am starting to develop that part of my writing. That's why I wrote the press release for apparel1.

Have you thought about targeting smaller publications to start with? You have a story to tell - mother and kids start business - and even a local newspaper would be interested. Do you know who your market is? Women but what age? income? Think about what your customer might read. You'll need to put together a press kit with a press release, background on your company and a great photo of you and your kids. That way it will be easy for them to use it. I mention this because you can try to get into the major magazines but you'll have more competition than you will on a local level. (Of course, your local level might include The New York Times.)

Hello,

I'm Devon the founder of Novedad Ink, Ltd and the creator of Creme De La Creme Magazine.

The magazine is a mass marketing free to the public publication highlighting culture, society, fashion and the arts at it's best.
In this publication ad space is available at reasonable rates. You can find some information on ad space rates and layouts on my company website Novedadinkltd.com under the owner operated tab.

At the moment I am working on the online publication where every business that subscribes to an ad in the publication will also be included on the web magazine.

For the promo issue I would like to extend the offer of free advertisement. The promo issue will be a 9.5 x 9.5 full color glossy 16 page publication.
And with that said I would like to offer you and your company free advertisement space in the promo issue.

You can reach me online at djh@novedadinkltd.com or by phone at 216.214.8556.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Maureen,
Publishers are used to receiving press releases from businesses. Your email was mixed in with many others and probably didn't get near those who actually put the magazine together. Writing is my business so let me know if you ever need a press release or any other business writing.

Have you ever read the Guerilla Marketing books? They have a lot of good marketing ideas.

My family closed the business in the '90s and, oddly enough, I'm not someone who wears a lot of jewelry. :)
