The Fashion Industries Favorite Business Network ...

Since we bloggers don't have our own catagory (wink!), I thought I'd toss a question into this one:

What is your preferred method of internet revenue-creation (applied to non-retailing websites). I'm talking about Google AdWords/AdSense, Affiliate Marketing, Direct Marketing, Selling links/posts, etc...

I personally prefer affiliate marketing programs because I'm a control freak and need to know exactly what's going to be appearing on my site. =)

What about you?

xoxo.

Actually, we do have a bloggers group, just started last week. It may take some time to become active.

Regarding your question, I personally like Adsense. Microsoft and Yahoo both have similar programs. However, I am not sure which is best. Out of those three, I have only tried adsense.

Regarding affiliate programs, I use them a bit, but really do NOT like them. I often find that the links go bad for one reason or another.

Ah! A group. Yes, I joined that. I guess I didn't register that they had a forum in there. Duh.

Can I ask what Affiliate Manager you've used? I use cj.com and I just adore them. My links have never gone bad. However, with Performics, almost all of them have, same with ShareASale. Awful.

I have used the following

CJ.com
LinkShare
Performics
Reporting.net (which I think combined with CJ.com)

I also use Amazon and Ebay. But ebay is a perfect example of why I do not like affiliate programs. This month I received an e-mail from the affilate company that I was using for Ebay and they said that ebay is now going to use their own system to manage the affilate program. That means that all of the affiliate links that I previously created will now turn to complete garbage. I would have to go back and change every link to the new system. What a nightmare...

Oh man! Okay, that I can understand. . . I'm sorry to hear that! That happened to me with Lulus.com.. I had to go back and change them all, which is why I terminated my accounts with ShareASale. Blech.

Yeah, that is the negative side to affiliate programs. On a positive note, it is still a good way to try to make a bit of money. You may want to ask your questions in the Marketing Group on this site. They may have some more experience to share. Affiliate programs in my opinion is a form of marketing.

Internet marketing, also referred to as web marketing, online marketing, or eMarketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet. The Internet has brought many unique benefits to marketing, one of which being lower costs for the distribution of information and media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing, both in terms of providing instant response and eliciting responses, is a unique quality of the medium. Internet marketing is sometimes considered to have a broader scope because it refers to digital media such as the Internet, e-mail, and wireless media; however, Internet marketing also includes management of digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management systems.
