I am hoping that some of you may be in a position to help. I am doing a research study on the role of fashion weeks/ events and how these help in the development of the industry. Would love to have some comments from those who work in this area, have taken part in these events.
Looking at role of buyers, industry experts, do designers get economic returns or just good publicity.
The reason I am doing this study is because in South Africa most of the fashion weeks are focused on glamour and not the economic benefits. There is also very little linkage with the industry buyers, clothing companies, textile companies and designers at these events.
Any suggestions, interesting documents and comments would be most welcome.
