The word "shoe" seems so trite a word to describe something so powerful. A shoe is a statement of who you are. It says I am a creature of comfort,
I am fashionable, avant-garde, or trendy. It's more than the buttery leather, or the sparkling crystals. It's more than the sharp click of them as you walk across the floor. It's not because they make you taller, or make your legs look longer, or make your posture leaner. It's not about biology. Shoes are all about chemistry.
It's hard to quantify the feeling, but I think it's very much like being in love. Finally, they get you and you fit. You begin to imagine that first kiss of leather on your heel and the dress you''ll wear the first time you wear them. That instance, when you twirl in the mirror, judge them as you walk, as you sit, as you cross your legs - voilà, you're in love!
This is my love affair with shoes. This is what has led me to this collection. As I prepare to launch, I feel like every place and person, every moment and heartache, every stumble and stop, has been worth it. It has been about leaning, learning, and developing your wings after you take the leap. Just have faith and jump.
So whatever your journey is, take it. Love it. Appreciate it. Be conscious about it. Revel in every moment. Enjoy your heartache as much as your heartbreak. Yell out your love and unhide your fears. Ask for help and take risks. When the moment calls you, put on a fabulous pair of shoes and walk in them.
