What do you wear for crossfit training and for functional fitness training? There is no doubt that you need comfortable and easy to wear clothing when you engage in these body-blasting activities. You need something comfortable because you will be moving a lot and engaging in fitness activities that will require you to perform your best. And of course, there is no doubt that you need clothes that are easy to wear. Steer clear of straps and snaps that will only slow you down and even cause injuries. In crossfit and functional fitness activities, there must be nothing to distract you. You must therefore have clothing that fits you like a glove would.

  • T-shirts - t-shirts are the most common fitness apparel for men and for women. The reason why this is popular is that it is easy to wear and may be purchased anywhere. But when it comes to crossfit training and functional fitness shirts that fit well, made of quality cotton and with very minimal designs are recommended.
  • Tank tops – this clothing apparel provides a cool fit which is essential in crossfit training. You will feel cooler and more comfortable in a tank top than you would probably would in a shirt. Just like t-shirts, tank tops should be made of cotton and should fit well so that it would feel like your second skin.
  • Hoodies and sweatshirts – training during the cold months could be a struggle especially when you need to go outdoors. You should wear protective clothing such as a hoddie or a sweatshirt to shield you from the elements. This kind of apparel should be soft, comfortable and should have a simple design to allow you to move freely.
  • Socks - socks keep your feet dry and will also provide ample support as you run, jump and skip as you engage in circuit or functional training. Choose socks made of high quality materials and should have adequate support on the toes and heel. Good quality socks feel and work better than other brands.
  • Sweat pants – a good pair of sweat pants should be worn during cold weather. You should have at least three or four of these in your wardrobe and of course with matching sweatshirts. 
  • Caps and beanies– you need to wear a cap or a beanie if you plan to train outdoors. Not only will these protect you from the environment but will also keep distracting hair off your face.
  • Vest tops- a vest top is an additional lining of clothing that is worn on top of a tank top or a sports bra for women. Vest tops are fashionable and will add protection from the cold if you would like to train outdoors in your tops.
  • Underwear– men need underwear with ample support just like women should wear sports bras to support the breasts. The person’s size and fit are important in finding the right underwear to wear.
  • Leggings- leggings provide a better fit than sweatpants and will also provide some kind of support as they train furiously in circuit and functional training. These should be made of very comfortable, breathable and flexible material.
