What Vehicle Matches Your Spring 2017 Style?

New York’s Fashion Week flooded the social networks and runways with stylish new apparel featuring fearless bra-tops, foldover waist skirts, and Lanvin’s vinyl pantsuit? From France we saw Dior’s love of denim boiler suits and Rihanna’s favorite puffer coats being strutted across the stage. You need to be stylish wherever you go, whether it’s oversized sunglasses for the beach or maybe a cool khaki dress. With seaside stripes and everything yellow dominating the Spring flora of fashion wear, we wanted to know which vehicle matches your Spring 2017 style.

Maybe the oversized Ray-Bans and coach shoulder bags are just too flashy. Sometimes simpler is better and your fashion sense lends its hand to occam’s razor. Maybe you're the kind of person who can rock a plain shirt with bell bottoms or jeans and a circle handbag. If you’re of the more academic or quiet type, than the Tesla Model S is the car to fit your style.

Being the longest lasting EV on the road, the Tesla Model S is the most advanced car potentially ever created, but with perhaps the simplest design. The Tesla Model S was designed with a ‘modest’ amount of chrome, rear glass slopes with a ‘fastback’ design, and smoothed lines for better aerodynamics. This vehicle is so minimalistic it doesn't even have an engine allowing for a frunk. The Tesla’s LED lights provide greater vision and its electronic battery produces minimal impact toward the environment.

Athleisure

Celebrities, such as Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson have been bringing back classic athletic wear into the limelight, but with a little twist. It’s no secret that women have been buying Nike gear for years, but outside of the gym there wasn’t many other places to rock a muscle-tee. Brands like DKNY and Lacoste have produced their own line of neutral colored athleisure inspirations ranging from knee high leggings to redesigned tracksuits for this year’s Fashion Week.

The athleisure trend is taking a classic sporty look and making it new again, much like the 2018 Bullitt Mustang. Originally inspired by the Steve McQueen movie “Bullitt,” the new Mustang is inspired by the 50th anniversary of the movie and the first Bullitt model. News was leaked by a video featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The Bullitt has been discontinued since 2009 and was most notable for featuring 17-inch Bullitt wheels and a cat-back exhaust system.

Mega-Bright

Brighter than bright and in-your-face, you’ll want the style to speak for itself. Get in the only car with a name appropriate for your flare, but a frame that says, “I’m still reasonable and don’t always need to be the center of attention.” The re-released Neon will balance your confidence with an understated grace that makes it clear you’re not afraid to stand out, but you know when to fit in.

Yellow is also making a comeback within style trends. If you’re looking for other luminous car makes, Lamborghinis come in a number of ultra-bright shades, as well as Chevy’s Camaro and Colbalt.

Stripes

Banking stripes, pinstripes, and even seaside stripes have taken all the rage this year. Why not? Stripes can be formal enough to wear to a banquet and also fun enough to roll up the sleeves and walk down a brisk boardwalk. Stripes are classic, so no one will question you cruising down the street in a classic car adorned with adorable racing stripes.

Take a Dodge Charger or a Lotus Elise and slap a stripe on them and really give them some edge. Roll up the sleeves and take an old muscle car and put a stripe on it to give it more classic appeal.

‘80s Baby

Denim jackets, jean jackets, shoulder pads, and lots of neon. Is this the ‘80s or 2017? Whether it’s the rise of taffeta ruffles or A-list celebrities strutting single shoulder cutouts, ‘80s fashion is making a bit of a comeback. Fortunately it’s just the fashion and not the hair. So what’s the car to match that ‘80s retro throwback?

A DeLorean.

If you don’t get this reference, you probably shouldn’t try the trend. Actually, if you weren’t alive for that reference, the same rules apply.

Sheer

From the translucent top to barely having one, the sheer fashion trend is taking the world by storm. Perfect for the warm spring season, sheer fashion allows for comfortable, breathable wear while shaping your body into a slender silhouette. If you seek comfort and freedom in style, a convertible is the right car for you.

The Volkswagen Eos is a sleek convertible open enough to feel the mist on your skin, but without leaving you completely exposed to the elements. This car comes equipped with a slender, aerodynamic look and great navigation and infotainment systems. Enjoy the spring air and the cool breeze as you pass by mountains and tumbling hillsides across winding roads on your open ride in the Volkswagen Eos.

Robes

Let’s be honest, if your idea of style is the comfort of getting away with wearing glorified pajamas in public, you’ll probably be comfortable cruising the streets on your bike. No reason you can’t be fashionable grabbing some black raspberry ice cream in your indigo Lacoste robe. Hop on a Prince purple bike and be the envy of everyone else struggling to wear heels while you ride in style with your elevated flats. Eco-friendly and the cause of envy- it just doesn’t get any better than that.
