New York City, NY (25 September 2011) - After a wildly successful debut of REHCY VONNE’s Fall 2011 collection at Creative Ambitions Night of Fashion in Destin, FL, and a crazy last two months of finishing a collection five months before it was originally set to debut, apparel designer Anna Maria will introduce New York City to REHCY VONNE and the line’s Spring 2012 collection. This introduction takes place on 29 September 2011 at 6:30 p.m., as part of Brooklyn (BK) Fashion Week(end). REHCY VONNE’s latest collection along Anna Maria’s accessories line, REHCY by Anna Maria, will wow the big city AT INDUSTRY CITY @  Bush Terminal (241 Third Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11232).

Brooklyn (BK) Fashion Week{end} is presented by the BK Style Foundation and is hosted by Industry City at Bush Terminal. The foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to emerging designers and empowers at-risk youth through fashion, and the event will benefit MTV Staying Alive Foundation with a silent auction and Live 4 Fashion Fundraiser after-party taking place after the shows on 30 Sept 2011.

Each year BK Fashion Week(end) exhibits a different theme, this year’s being “Fashion Freedom,” celebrating the freedom of fashion-- the perfect theme to introduce BK Style Foundation’s new “Designers Exchange” program. The “Exchange” focuses on displaying the wealth of talent that can be found in Africa. The night of September 30th will display the collections of African born designers. Hearing about the foundation and the new exchange, Anna Maria knew REHCY VONNE would be a perfect fit. “The main reason I chose fashion design as a career was to be able to use my fashion success to help children in less developed nations especially ones in Africa.”

“The Spring 2012 collection is more fashion forward, not only stylistically but also in materials, than the previous ones. Over 75% of my collection is made of eco-friendly, organic fabrics, so I am showing on opening night which is eco-friendly night. Eco-friendly is where fashion is heading, and I’m happy to be apart of this change. My accessories line has been geared toward being green since the beginning, and now my clothing line will be as well. What can I say, I’m a sucker for organic products! The collection is ‘Living Atlantis’ and is inspired by the myth of Atlantis being true. It’s all natural colors and aquas, and shows you a a bit of a storybook fantasy, which I love to show in all my designs.”

ABOUT REHCY VONNE

REHCY (ress-y) launched in 2009 by Anna Maria. The line came about as the result of her quest to find a way to create fashion accessories that were both high fashion and green. Many of the accessories are made from what we like to jokingly refer to as "Reincarnated" materials. In 2010, Anna Maria, expanded REHCY to include an apparel line, REHCY VONNE. The line came from a desire to create clothing that combines soft with a bit of edge, as well as, allowing the wearer to feel great and look amazing, while having an effortlessly fashionable feel. Inspiration for both REHCY and REHCY VONNE derives from many different places. Anna Maria, being an artist and history lover, enjoys using elements of each in her designs.

“In design, I like to combine different cultures, time periods, and personalities. One day I may wakeup and want to be a hippie then the next day a rock star. Fashion gives you the capability to show all sides of yourself.”

With a huge interest in philanthropy and helping children in need, and in support of Anna Maria's dream to one day open schools and orphanages in Africa, a percentage of all sales is donated to charity.
