Wedding of the Week: Demi Gull and David Stanage

The couple: Demi, from Bellshill, works as an early years practitioner in nurseries while groom David, of Newarthill, Motherwell, is a self-employed courier director.

Where they met: Demi and David met in a pub called Franklyns in Bellshill when they were teenagers.

The wedding: The ceremony was held at St Gabriel’s Chapel in Viewpark on July 31, 2016. Their reception was at Glenskirlie House where they had exclusive use of the castle for their 146 guests, followed by an additional 50 evening guests.

Attire: The bride wore a bespoke made princess gown with a lace bodice and large lace trim bottom made by Susanne Christyne Bridal in Glasgow, while David wore a light grey with black speckle kilt from Mackenzie Menswear also in Glasgow.

Bridal party: There were five bridesmaids – sister-in-law Danielle, two of Demi’s cousins Hayley and Amanda-Jane and two of Demi’s best friends Vhairi and Lynne. There were also two flower girls, Courtney, who is David’s daughter and Jae-Brooke, who is Demi’s younger cousin. The couple had two page boys, Kai ,who is the son of Demi and David, and Samuel, their nephew. The best man was David’s older brother John followed by five ushers Gary and Ryan who are also David’s brothers, Demi’s cousin Kevin and David’s friends Jonathon and Richie.

Honeymoon: The newlyweds travelled to Las Vegas where they spent four nights followed by Cancun for six nights for their honeymoon.
