“The UNIQLO Fall/Winter collection remains to be the ‘lifewear’ consisting [of clothes appropriate for] travel, essentials, sports, and work,” UNIQLO Philippines general manager Geraldine Sia said. “We always provide good things to Filipino by taking everyday apparel to the next level.”

During the press preview, Natasha Faye Daradar, UNIQLO Philippines’ visual merchandising manager presented a walkthrough of the new collection. Pieces from the collection were presented in each category and styling ideas were also taught to fit for every occasion.

The essentials includes quality basics like jeans, chinos, cotton shirts, and knitwear.

For work, UNIQLO offers a wide range of comfortable, minimalist items. As the definition of work wear evolves as work practices and environments have become more diverse, UNIQLO came out with professional, stylish, and flexible pieces for every profession.

UNIQLO Sports pieces are made with materials that wick away sweat, retain heat, dry quickly, block the wind, and repel water, all while maintaining its breathability and done in a style that can be worn in any activity indoors or outdoors.

For travelers, UNIQLO came out with a variety of functional items that retain heat and block out wind, a must visiting countries in the fall and winter.

“Filipinos love to travel especially now that it’s affordable. So we want them to be able to buy their travel clothes here in the Philippines,” Ms. Sia said.

She said that UNIQLO Travel is not only great when traveling, but it can also be worn in offices while working. “Some go to very cold offices [because of the air-conditioning], so they could wear those as well,” she said.

Also introduced were kids and babies’ fashion. The Kids & Baby lineup is comprised of highly functional items that match kids’ lifestyle and activity needs. The range includes heat-retentive and quick-drying t-shirts, stretchable easy-pants, and easy washable outerwear. Among the child-friendly features of the clothes are stitching that does not touch the skin, pieces that are easy to slip on and remove, and zippers that are easily identifiable.

Lifewear Fall/Winter presentation included a collection done in partnership with French model and fashion designer Inés de La Fressange and UNIQLO’s design director Naoki Takizawa.

“The reason why we chose Inés is that she has this personality that embeds how UNIQLO is, making it simple and better,” Ms. Sia said.

The line, which includes round collar dresses and sports styling, features a gray seasonal palette, gradiations from dark to charcoal, augmented by blue and red accents and Inés’ signature navy color.

Also presented was UNIQLO U, the collection that reinvented basics to be anything but basic, made by the brand’s global design team led by French designer Christophe Lemaire.

“More and more, I see Filipinos wearing UNIQLO and embracing it as a brand. We continue to believe that Filipinos believe what UNIQLO is -- a lifewear,” Ms. Sia said.Read more at:green formal dresses
