Sarees are very common among Indian women. Earlier, sarees were meant to be traditional wear which needed to be followed. But now, it has become more of outing wear. It has been a great transition from traditional wear to outing wear. Sarees are no longer monotonous and have become a lot of versatile. You can wear it for most of the occasions. Sambalpuri Saree

The city of Odisha is known for a lot of things. One among them is the beautiful ikats and traditional weaving which it has offered the rest of the country. Odisha is known for its different techniques of weaving, infusion of traditional motifs into the sambalpuri sarees. The traditional motifs include flowers, shells and wheel infused in the sarees. The Sambalpuri Saree is made in a particular way. The threads of the Sambalpuri Saree are first tie-dyed and then they are woven in the form of a fabric which adds to the overall richness of the whole process and the art. They are also is known for their crispiness which is induced by starch. This a beautiful Bengali saree, which is available in various, designs and colors. You can always wear this when attending a wedding during the summer. It is classy and you won't even need to compromise your comfort for it.

Kanjeevaram saree

The Kanjeevaram saree is named after the town Kanchipuram situated in Bangalore. The craftsman of this town make the Kanjeevaram sarees with great care. The main highlight of this saree is the bright colors which are highly preferred by the women of South India. The kajeevaram sarees are known for their bright and attractive colors. Kanjeevaram sarees are available in silk varieties along with the cotton varieties. However, silk Kanjeevaram sarees are more preferred and popular.

Khadi saree

Khadi sarees have been worn for a very long time. They are relatively older than most of the other types of cotton sarees. The khadi sarees are made in the traditional style using handlooms and cotton yarns which are spun by hand. They are considered to be the most favoured material along with being the most breathable material. In order to get some comfort from the scorching sun, you must add this type of saree to your wardrobe. Since the khadi saree are made of breathable material, you won't get too much sweat and will feel much better as compared to wearing other types of sarees. They are the best choice of saree for the summer season.

Chanderi saree

In Maharashtra, there is a town named Chanderi which is famous for making the traditions Maharashtrian saree. They are very popular because of their high quality and outstanding prints. They are a perfect balance of quality and design. The Chanderi sarees are made of cotton which has different prints in traditional style. These prints include coins, peacocks, floral art and geometries which are woven into a different pattern of Chanderi. Apart from the traditional prints, the Chanderi sarees are popular for its silk sarees. These silk sarees are considered to be one of the finest sarees in the entire country.

Dhakai saree

The origin of the Dhakai saree is actually from the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. During the early days of the saree, it was popular in the east and was worn by the people of Bengal and other eastern regions of eh country. The Dhakai sarees also come in two types. One is the normal Dhakai saree which is made purely from plain threading. The other one is known as the Zamadani Dhakai sarees which have some golden thread work on it. The Zamdani Dhakai sarees are worn for many important occasions such as weddings, parties, and many such events.

Chikankari saree

The main thing about the Chikankari saree is its embroidery. Initially, the chikankari saree was started as a white on white embroidery work. But later as it became more and more popular, the embroidery work started doing in different colors, the embroidery work is the focus of this saree and it is done very delicately by the craftsman. By seeing this saree, you can feel its beauty. This saree is not easily available in many places apart from Lucknow. They are exclusively sold in Lucknow. So, if you are planning to wear this saree and experience it, you might need to visit Lucknow to get a hand onto it.

Gadwal saree

The Gadwal Saree originally belong to the Western part of India. They were initially available in different Earth colors. But as they grew popular and along with the change in demands of the market, these sarees are made in vibrant and brighter colors as well. In most of the Gadwal sarees, you will find zari work in the shades of gold and copper.

Pochampally saree

The Pochampally sarees are made in Telangana in the place named Bhoodan Pochampally. This saree is famous for its geometric patterns and their ikat style of dying. The Pochampally sarees are generally made of fine cotton and sometimes, you may find that it is a blend of cotton and silk. The length of saree of nine yards and will be enough to cover your body and make you look like a beauty.

Kota Doria saree

Woven in the place of Kota in Rajasthan, the Kota Doria saree is made of cotton and have patterns in the form of squares which are known as khats. This pattern of the saree is done in a specific way. The khats on the fabric of the Kota Doria saree are woven in a methodical manner in a traditional pit room so as to process the desired output. The Kota Doria sarees are popular for these delicate khat marks.
