They have become one of reality TV's golden couples since falling in love on the last series of The Only Way Is Essex.

But Chloe Sims and Elliott Wright have been fighting a secret battle away from the cameras as they work on merging their two families.

The task of introducing their kids to each other has been made all the harder due to the fact both Chloe's daughter Madison and Elliott's son suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which affects concentration and social interaction.

Opening up about the challenge to the MailOnline at the TV Choice Awards, Elliott, who also has a young daughter with his ex-partner, said: 'It's been testing. Both our kids have got ADHD, so it's been hard work... but it's worth it.'

Chloe, whose nine-year-old daughter also has autism, added: 'It's been an experience this summer, with three children.

'Going from one to three it's been hectic. But when we're all out together we just joke around. With three kids running around it's like a little gang.'

Chloe and Madison jetted to Spain over the summer to spend a month with Elliott and his kids, who spend most of the year in Alicante with their mother.

Despite their struggles, the pair are clearly loved-up, and Elliott is adamant they won't fall prey to the dreaded 'TOWIE curse', so called due to the fact most relationships featured on the show struggle to survive.

He explained: 'We're very happy. I know people say about the TOWIE curse but I don't see that happening. Not for us anyway.

'I think the good thing about me and Chloe is we do work together, we both live together, we've both got kids and I think it just shows that we're quite happy at the moment and it means it's a solid relationship.'
