Whether you’re headed to the beach for a much-needed reprieve or flying cross-country on a business venture, you want to look your best. From the airport to the pool and even in the conference room, style is one thing you don’t have to sacrifice. Beyond the basic staples, you need to jet set on any excursion here are a few summer fashion items you don’t want to leave behind.

White T-Shirt

How timeless is the white t-shirt? It’s so versatile. You can pair it with some jeans and some flats for a cute and casual look or throw it under a cardigan or blazer with heels to wear to a corporate event. Be sure to pack at least one of these for your summer trip because you never know when it might come in handy.

Skinny Jeans

Another fashion staple you don’t want to be without on a summer vacation - skinny jeans. They’re comfortable for sporting to the airport or to grab drinks after a meeting with colleagues. Plan on heading to any shopping malls? Skinny jeans with a nice novelty t-shirt and some cool sneakers are the perfect trendy but casual outfit to shop until you drop.

Sundress

Whether you’re strolling on the boardwalk with a significant other, heading to a corporate event, or going out for a nice night on the town, no fashionista can go wrong with a sundress. There are so many styles you can choose from to compliment your figure and personality. A nice bright a-line dress with a cardigan will look great for professional travel. Yet, a form-fitting sundress would be perfect for an evening of dancing and exploring.

Underwear

You’re probably wondering what woman in her right mind would leave home for summer vacation without underwear, but you’d be surprised how many plan for a beach vacation and grab the swimsuit but forget the panties and bra. Not to mention, the wrong underwear with summer attire could have more business out there than you want. For business travelers, it’s best to stick with comfortable underwear with basic colors so it doesn’t show through. If you plan on wearing a lot of tank-tops and tube tops, however, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got bras with removable straps.

Swimsuit

If you’re going to a tropical destination the majority of your wardrobe will be swimwear. Don’t forget to pack multiple swimsuits so you can show off a new fashion every day. You’ll also want to grab a cover-up like a wrap or a kimono when you’re sitting poolside or on the sand. Even if you’re traveling for business, most hotels have pools that patrons can use. So, after your event is over, you might find it intriguing to hop in and take a swim. Therefore, you don’t want to leave home without a stylish bathing suit to show off those curves.

Comfy Flats or Sneakers

Traveling can be hard on the feet. From walking through busy airports to exploring museums and tourist attractions, you could be on your feet all day. That’s why a fashionista should never leave home without a pair of stylish, yet comfortable flats or sneakers. A printed ballet flat or sparkly gladiator sandals are options. However, you can also go with a nice white low-top sneaker.

Strappy Heels

You never know when you need to step things up a notch on your summer trip, so be prepared. Along with bringing a stylish sundress along, you also need to have a pair of strappy heels present. The right pair of heels can work for an upscale corporate event or a fancy dinner for two. Go with a neutral color like white, black, tan, or navy so it can coordinate with your wardrobe.

Sun Protection

No matter what your purpose for traveling during the summer the sun will certainly be there. If you’re going to be spending a lot of time outdoors you want to stay protected from the harshness of those ultraviolet rays. Outside of making sure you’ve packed plenty of sunscreen, you also want to bring along a fashionable pair of sunglasses and a hat.

So, there you have it. A few stylish things you’ll want to have with you for your next summer trip. As long as you have these things in your bag, you can mix and match to create a wardrobe fit for any activities you have on your itinerary.
