Anne Hathaway

The Hollywood superstar George Clooney just got married to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. Their high-profile wedding caught eyes of people all over the world. The elegant bride  played it safe for the ceremony in a white Chantilly lace gown with a hand-embroidered bodice, beading and crystals.  Here are some most impressive celebrity wedding dresses in history.

Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie held their wedding on Aug. 23. The new Mrs. Brad Pitt incorporated her children into the ceremony in a decidedly Angelina Jolie way, donning a sweeping ivory dress that featured drawings by the couple’s children. The colorful artwork includes pictures of people, flowers, and what seems to be the Eiffel Tower — fitting, considering the happy couple married in France.

Keira Knightley
She was originally showered with praise for exchanging her vows in a dress she had worn before. But it appears Keira Knightly, 29, was not as frugal as she first appeared when she said ‘I do’. The actress has confessed that in addition to the pale pink tulle Chanel dress, pictured, that she wore for her civil wedding in the South of France last year, she also had a custom-made £50,000 Valentino dress for a secret second ceremony.

Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway has married Adam Shulman after a one year engagement. The bride wore a dress designed by Valentino,  while the groom dressed in a dapper tuxedo. Anne certainly made for a beautiful bride in her off-the-shoulder, vintage inspired creation, which she teamed with white shoes and an elaborate but gorgeous veil.

Kate Moss
Who doesn’t want a really close up look at some of Mossy’s sartorial successes? This 30s, Jazz Age inspired dress, worn in July 2011 for her wedding to Jamie Hince, was designed by John Galliano. One of the key parts of the dress, which Kate described as ‘kind of dreamy, soft focus’, was, according to Galliano, ‘a beautiful rosary, which I thought must have been from a fallen angel’. Sort of perfect for Kate.

Dita Von Teese
The marriage between burlesque bombshell Dita Von Teese and Marilyn Manson ended, but the photos of her fabulous wedding gown have remained. Phew! Though I probably wouldn't dare to wear such an over-the-top Vivienne Westwood gown for my big day, everything about it matches Dita's unique style. It's certainly not white, has more taffeta than one person can handle, and to call it poofy would be an understatement. Still, it's fabulous beyond belief. What's your verdict — freaky or fabulous?
