Top 10 Most Expensive Phones in the World

If Birkins, with their ridiculously high prices, were not enough to make one raise an eyebrow, you are yet to learn about some of the most expensive mobile sets. All these customized or not-so-customized mobile phones have one thing in common- DIAMONDS. I guess that is the only reason these sets are so highly priced because honestly when it comes to appearance, I have not seen uglier phones than these. There are people out there who have been waiting (probably still are) to buy themselves an iPhone 7. Because let us face it, the majority cannot even afford the new iPhone XS unless, by any miracle, Spectrum Phone runs a promo and offers one! Then there are people who would spend millions of dollars on one mobile phone. Whatever the case might be, here are the ten most expensive (read: unattractive) phones in the world to date. Moving in an ascending order:

iPhone Princess Plus

Designed by an Austrian jeweler who also happens to be a designer (Peter Aloisson), iPhone Princess Plus came studded in 318 diamonds. That makes it a total of 17.75 carats of diamond that this mobile bore. Not only this, the rim of the phone was not your ordinary metallic rim. It was 18k gold (not so ordinary after all, eh?) The price tag that came attached to this mobile was a whopping amount of USD 176,400 and a couple of people bought it including a Russian businessman.

Black Diamond VIPN Smartphone

Next up on the list is this $300k worth of mobile set. Do you remember the once famous Sony Ericsson handsets? Well, Black Diamond VIPN Smartphone was a fancy (read: expensive) version of those Sony Ericsson mobiles. What made it that expensive, you ask? Well, the body was nothing but gems, gold, and a very pricey black diamond.

Vertu Signature Cobra

Vertu is known for creating luxurious mobile sets that come at a very high price. Its recent creation, the Vertu Signature Cobra is no different. The mobile is a feature phone that comes in different designs according to the buyer's preference. However, the signature design of the mobile is a cobra that curls around the front side of the body. The cobra consists of 439 rubies and the eyes are of emerald. Designed by a French jeweler Boucheron Vertu, the set came at a price of $360k.  If you Google it, you will also notice the ugliness that the hefty price brought with it.

Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot

Designed by Gresso, the accessory designer, this mobile was a bit too pricey. Want to know how much it cost? $ 1 Mn. Did it surprise you? What is even more surprising is that the body is of wood (a very rare one though). That is the unique selling point. The wood, God knows where they extracted it from, comes from an African tree that is some 200 years old. Not only this, the body has black diamonds and more than 180 grams pure gold with keys encrusted with Sapphire. Fancy stuff!

Diamond Crypto

Diamond Crypto features around 300 diamonds is a creation by Peter Aloisson and costs around $1.3 Mn. Apart from the fancy diamonds (eight blue diamonds included), the phone makes use of advanced encryption technology as well. Using this technology makes this mobile set safe for sharing confidential and private information. This feature makes it an ideal candidate for protecting information/data against crimes.

Goldvish Le Million

Priced at $1.3 Mn, this mobile is a creation of a Switzerland based company (Goldvish) that makes luxurious phones. This handmade mobile came in 18-carat white gold body and 120 carats of VVS-1 graded diamonds to go with it.

iPhone 3G King’s Button

When it comes to designing luxury phones, it seems as Peter Aloisson is the guru. This version of the iPhone is one of his creations as well, priced at $2.4 Mn. The following make this set so pricey:

  • 18 carats Yellow Gold, White Gold, and Rose Gold
  • 138 Diamonds

What enhances the price further is the home button made of 6.6-karat diamond, making it look anything but beautiful.

Supreme Goldstriker iPhone 3G

The casing of this $3.2 Mn phone had 271 grams of 22-karat gold. The screen had 53 1-carat diamonds. That is a lot too many diamonds. If this was not enough, a rare 7-1-carat diamond replaced the home button as well.

Diamond Rose iPhone 4

This mobile came at a price of $ 8 Mn. This phone’s bezel was of rose gold. Apart from that, over 500 diamonds cover this mobile and the back is of rose gold. The Apple logo and the home button are studded with diamonds and platinum as well.

Falcon Supernova iPhone 6 Pink Diamond

Rumors have it that Nita Ambani (wife of the renowned Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani) owns this $48.5 Mn mobile set. Made out of 24-carat gold and a gigantic pink diamond at the back, the mobile is one of the priciest till date.

The fact that businessmen or stars bought these expensive mobile sets shouldn’t surprise anyone. Normal individuals are happy with their ordinary smart-phones with services like Spectrum Internet and mobile phones serving the basic function.
