The TRUTH about FIT...what the website did NOt Tell YOU...FINALLY REVEALED.......!

Attending a school that is prestigious in it's nature, door opening by the name, and eyeopening to it's students, is a dream that many wish to obtain. There are many here who think that FIT is thier calling, fashion is truly what they have been created to do, and many of these hopefuls have been mistaken. The Fashion Institute of Technology is no joke, and as I encounter many freshmen faces... I see the mark of failure. Did anybody inform the newbies that FIT is the greatest fashion school in the world? That FIT isn't a school that you can just get by? You eithier pass or fail here, like the fashion industry. You do not come to FIT to find yourself, you must have an idea of who you are or you will be cut down by the constant criticism. I watch many people here who have walked through these doors overflowing with talent, and expression...and just lose it all here. FIT is a game, and to acheive greatness, one must play the game correctly. Now, I am sure there are many readers who are hoping that I will be the one who reveals the tricks of the trade to them...but you too have been mistaken. The way that I see it is like this... if you cannot figure the game out on your own...then this school is not for you. Fashion may appear glamourous and fun....but there are very few in the industry who billboard that lifestyle. If you have dreams of attending FIT or entering into the fashion industry I am not here to crush those dreams... I am just here to report the reality of the situation...I mean I am a fashion journalist...what else would you expect?-shanique_lee@fitnyc.edu
