Born from rebellion way back in the twenties, when radical  girls shunned social norms and restrictive cinched-waist style frocks in favour of simpler styles, the shift dress gave these fashion forward girls the freedom to dance and move freely.  Revived in another rebellious decade – the sixties and made famous by Jackie O, Twiggy and Jane Birkin to name a few, the shift returned pimped up in radical patterns and eye-popping colours. This simple yet loud vestment symbolised fun, youth and femininity, I’d give anything to experience the decade when fashion went abit mental – the reactions of the onslaught of girls in crazy outfits and explosions of colour.
